Looking Back (to my pre-digital camera days)

1975 to 1998

A brief photo-report using my scanned slides and film from a favourite airfield south of Paris and the home of the famous Jean-Baptiste Salis.
August 1998 |
The SNCAC/Nord NC.702 Martinet (331 'PN') was operated by the CEV at Bretigny from 1950 to 1969. It arrived at La Ferté-Alais in 1985 following time at holiday camp in Avernes and I believe storage at Etampes. In 1998 it was transferred to Deutsches Technikmuseum, Berlin and following restoration was put on display in 2006.
The Martinet was a German-designed (Siebel 204) but built in France by SNCAC (the Société Nationale de Constructions Aéronautiques du Centre) as twin-engine military trainer and light transport aircraft for the Armee de l'Air and Aéronavale. 350 were constructed but only three remain preserved.
